Primary exercise to the Quadriceps and Glutes. This video aims for the MTNTOUGH Athlete to analyze their movement in the Step-Up biomechanically. Video your Step-up from the front and side angles to ensure you have a properly Braced Core (360 degrees), Knees pushed out, and, most importantly, active feet (tripod). Push with authority thru the entire foot to propel yourself onto the box, and the novice should begin with a 6"- 8" Box until you ensure the hips and knees are in alignment. Remember, the lead leg is doing all the work, do not allow your lower leg to lead the way! Apply the appropriate exercise prescription to turn your weakness into strength if you find a deficiency.
