It's one thing to train harder, but training smarter makes you a better mountain athlete, one able to face grueling conditions head-on with the ability to adapt to any situation as it unfurls. The MOUNTAIN will test your limits with its demanding AMRAPs, dead hangs, wall sits – and more. Led by MTNTOUGH Trainer Sarah Maschino, The MOUNTAIN incorporates plyometrics, core, shoulder and hip mobility movements that will challenge, strengthen and empower you to work hard for increased endurance, resilience and grit.
The MOUNTAIN might look familiar to the MTNTOUGH Minimal Gear Daily community – and it should. This is the first time MTNTOUGH has taken a MGD monthly theme and turned into a standalone program that blends strategy with function and form. Each day builds upon itself with an incorporated flush day to keep you limber and ready for more. Like other programs, The MOUNTAIN requires each participant to complete an assessment test on Week 1, Day 1 and another on Week 4, Day 5 to measure how far you’ve come in just four short weeks.
The MOUNTAIN is customizable as you can select the weights that work for you; however, be aware that this program is intense – and it’s supposed to be. Some days will be harder than others and it’s up to you to find the mental toughness within to push on and finish because when you do, you’ll be ready to tackle anything that comes your way – physically and/or mentally – with focus and fortitude.
