Don Reichelt is an acclaimed trail and ultra runner, distinguished for his exceptional endurance and speed, residing in the scenic Fairplay, Colorado. He shares his life with his supportive wife, Amy, and their two beloved dogs, Bean and Sprout. Don's running prowess is evident in his remarkable achievements, notably his 100-mile trail best of 13:16, secured at the Tunnel Hill 100 in November 2020. This outstanding performance not only marked a personal best but also stood as the third-fastest trail 100-mile run in North America for that year.
In November 2022, Don showcased his versatility and strength by setting three manual treadmill world records, wearing a Speedland road prototype. These records include the furthest distance in 12 hours, the fastest 100 miles, and the furthest distance run in 24 hours. His endurance and resilience have also earned him a podium finish at the Badwater 135, recognized as "The World's Toughest Footrace." Furthermore, Don's international representation includes being a member of the 2017 U.S. Spartathlon team, enduring a 153-mile race from Athens to Sparta, and his invitation to the prestigious 2019 Backyard World Championship.
Don's racing accolades continue with numerous top finishes, such as securing the first place in the Coldwater Rumble 52 Mile in 2021, 2022, and 2023, as well as victories in the Salt Flats Endurance Run 50K in 2021, and the Lean Horse 100 mile in 2019. He also proudly finished as the 2nd place runner in the 2017 Keys 100 mile and is a celebrated Leadville Leadman Finisher.
Away from the racing tracks, Don is deeply involved in the health tech industry, dedicating his time to Oura Ring, a pioneering startup known for its innovative, health-focused wearable technology. His role reflects his passion for promoting health and wellbeing, extending beyond his personal athletic endeavors.
In addition to his professional and athletic pursuits, Don is a vibrant voice in the running community. He is not only a 2023 USA 24-Hour National Champ and a 3x Manual Treadmill World Record Holder but also a content creator who shares his love for running and interviews individuals on a tiny bench, bringing together a community passionate about endurance, health, and the resilience of the human spirit.
