I have been doing the MGD’s since October and recently started mixing in the Gym Daily. Really loving the variety and challenge of heavy days with endurance days. Being fully coached has changed the whole game and I love it! I feel great! Last weekend I hiked into the mountains near my home in Chugiak Alaska with my two boys ages 12 and 14. I went in with a 65lbs pack. We spent three days hiking and found numerous large moose sheds. I came out at 80lbs after eating all my food. 😂 The point is that everything felt great except for my calf’s. Having to climb fairly steep terrain with a load really highlighted my lack of calf specific training. I am an ex-college soccer player so I had never needed supplemental calf training. Now at 44 it is a necessity. I know the calf is being trained on a secondary basis with step ups, lunges, squats and many other movements but is weighted calf training something MTN Tough has considered adding into any of the programs?
I cannot put into words how much MTN Tough has become part of my life! So appreciate all of the hard work each of you put into designing the workouts and most importantly developing mental toughness. We can't thank you enough! We don't have a calf specific program, but bulgarians are always helpful. It is tough to replicate that uphill travel, but we certainly try! Keep up the great work. You are making some memories with your boys!
