Warm well wishes to all that take the time to read this thread and get back to me.
My name is Matt, I'm an Englishman, just shy of 36 years old and living with my wife and our 9 month old daughter on the west coast of The Republic of Ireland.
I moved here 2 years ago following our marriage - my wife is from this part of the world and after spending time here when we were dating, I fell in love with the place and the rough, rugged wild terrain of the wilderness against the backdrop of this side of The Atlantic Ocean.
One of the best past about living out here - access to hunting, unlike the UK, isn't just a wealthy man's pursuit, and I now have the opportunity to get stuck into something that has aroused my tastebuds for many many years.
Now, 7 weeks out from the start of our season over here, I would like to know where to start in terms of a training regimen so that I can make as much of a leap forwards in terms of overall mountain readiness in such time without running risk of injury in the process.
A former Thai boxer, I am far from being unfamiliar with strength and condition workouts and dietary principles, although my focus has shifted from being completely disciplined since moving here and building a home and raising a family. I'll openly admit, I'm carrying more weight on my frame than I'd like to.
With all this in mind, what are the communities views on where I should begin.
Thanks in advance.
We are excited that you made the move and that you have more access to hunting! You should start with the On-Ramp programs and then move to Foundations. You will be set up for success!
