I severely strained my left hamstring over the weekend after it already being a little sore from doing a literal " dead weight pull" from an awkward position as few weeks ago. I also need to find what alternate exercises I can do for any movement that requires laying on my chest like supermans, snow angels, etc. I dislocated by sternum in a MV accident and so whenever I place a lot of pressure on my chest, it makes me short of breath and feels like I am having a heart attack. Do you have any tips on how to survive wall sits for more than 20 seconds? I have "airborne knees" and once I get to about 20 seconds or so into a wall sit, my knees sound like a big bowl of rice krispies and I get a shooting pain in my legs. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
Thanks for reaching out — sounds like you’re dealing with a few tough injuries. For the hamstring, avoid direct loading and focus on gentle mobility or quad-dominant work. Swap out chest-down movements with kneeling or standing variations like bird dogs or band pull-aparts. For wall sits, try shorter sets, heel elevation, or TRX-supported holds to reduce knee strain. These situations are best handled case-by-case by your PT or doctor, but feel free to email [email protected] for more specific guidance — the forum isn’t the ideal place for in-depth injury advice.
